IT’S GOOD TO BE KING​​​​​​​ Handsome vintage Tony Lama El Rey black full quill ostrich cowboy western boots with cutout uppers in an unusual woven, basket weave look. Handcrafted in 1973 in El Paso Texas, back when cowboy boots were - well, cowboy boots. Tony Lama’s El Rey boots represent the very top of the line boots, the best that Lama ever made. Probably why he dubbed these El Rey - “the king”. El Rey workmanship and quality are still unrivaled today. Exquisite one of a kind boots in terrific condition. Quills are all in good condition with no nicks or rips. Boots so soft they may ruin you for any others. The two inside boot pulls are brown leather on the inner side, so these may either have been originally brown and professionally dyed black, or the pulls were replaced. The pegged stitched leather soles have half soles that were beautifully done - not sure if they were half soles or sole protectors. White cloth “Genuine Roebucks” label. “Genuine Roebucks” stamp still visible on pegged, stitched leather soles. Very, very little wear. Leather is beautifully broken in. Insides are immaculate. Several small scratches on left boot, possibly from storage. Stitched. pegged leather soles are immaculate, with “Genuine Roebucks” stamp still visible on them. Nailed rubber heel caps.   Used to be a person could find their heart’s desire in the pages of the Sears catalogue. Looks like not much has changed.
